A complete military history of the ImagiNation of Ober Nord Westfalen!
Slightly off-topic maybe, but before we leave the uniforms...: did I dream it, or was there for a moment an allusion to the Grenadiers' headgear before the introduction of the mitre?
Not off-topic at all, at all. If you mean the reference to a 'cap', then yes, you remember correctly, but what was meant was a 'mitre cap' - same thing. I believe that 18th Century custom was to refer to the said headgear as a cap?
Thanks (and you are right as for the 'nomenclature') - somehow I 'saw' a fur-edged cap, frequent by the late 17th C. ...
Very nice job on your standards!
Not censoring you, Uncle Bill, but you double-posted... Oh well, it happens to us all sooner or later.
