Uniforms 1813-1815

It appears that due to the efforts of one of our lower-ranking archivists that an old document has re-surfaced in the munuments room. From what can be deciphered - sadly the document is very greasy and smells strongly of vinegar and fish - that at the time of the re-building of the army for the befreiungskrieg, the Margravate was sorely short of funds, and applied to the Government of Great Britain for aid.
Some of this aid, it appears, was in the form of recently superseded items of uniform apparel, including a number of Light Dragoon helmets, replaced in the British army by shakos. It seems that sufficient number of these helmets were received to allow them to be issued to all four regiments of Leichte Dragoner and to the Reitendeartillerie truppen.
These helmets were worn apparently until the end of the period of the Occupation of France. So far, it has not been possible to discover exactly when they were replaced in our own army.

'Brigadier' (as Britishs always mention) P. Young, of "Charge! Or, how to play wargames" fame, used Airfix RHA in his ficional Lace Wars forces. Thus, your 'veterans' could be enlisted in the (SYW) army of Hannunter?

BTW, WSS troops (should you built such an ONW force) could very well moonlight as SYW *militia* -even the pikemen: French Sans-culottes were issued half-pikes, and the Irishs of 1798 a kind of Naginata.
While the Horse Guards could be kept as such, by traditionalism?

A SYW Hannunter army is a long way in the future. To date I have 24 SYW Prussians doing duty as Brunswickers doing duty as ONW Grenadiers and Musketiers - and I haven't finished painting them yet.

Plus, as the RHA are in overalls, (pantalons a cheval) rather than breeches & boots, I think they'd look better in ONW's Nappy army.

But interesting point about SYW Militias, I shall have to consider...

Thank you, as always. for your input.
